College studyabroad programs have great educational value, compel students to become more globally aware, and invite participants to learn about different nations and cultures. Some colleges sponsor several programs and have high participation rates. However, nationally, only 14% of all college students participate in a study-abroad program. Recent world events may have made more students leery of travel and life in another country.
In a random sample of 1200 graduating college students, 150 said they had participated in a study-abroad program. Is there any evidence to suggest the proportion of students participating in these programs has decreased? Use a = 0.05.
