Module Project Assignment
Course Project: Marketing
As described in Chapter 14 of your course text, the goal of marketing for child development center directors is to inform families that the center exists and that the program offered at the child development center meets their needs. As a result, all marketing materials should clearly communicate a key claim and a key proof; that is, what the center does, along with evidence to support this claim. In this assignment, you will develop a key claim and key proof for your child development center, as well as a marketing plan that you might implement or a marketing material you might design and use in order to attract and retain customers.
To begin, write a key claim and a key proof that you would want all of the promotional materials for your child development center to support. You may refer to page 316 of your course text for an example. Then, choose one of the following two options:
Option 1: Marketing Plan
In 2-3-pages, describe the marketing strategy that you would use to promote your child development center. Identify at least three specific techniques or avenues that you would use in marketing your business and how and why you would use them. Avenues for marketing might include the following:
• Websites
• Brochures
• Advertisements
• Person-to-person communication
Option 2: Marketing Material
Choose one specific marketing avenue (i.e., a brochure, a print advertisement, or a website) that you might use to promote your child development center. Design and create an example of this marketing material based on the key claim and key proof that you wrote for your center, as well as information in your course text regarding guidelines for effective marketing materials. For brochures and print advertisements, you may create actual representations of these materials (in a Word document or PDF). For a website, you may create a mock-up of what the homepage for the website might look like (in a Word document or PDF). Remember to include a mixture of informational text and graphics in your marketing materials, all based on your key claim and key proof.
