Assignment:
In "The Way to Wealth," Franklin stresses the importance of frugality. He uses several aphorisms to depict this. One that deeply resonated with me is "beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship." Over the last five years, I have worked with cutting back on unnecessary expenses. Social media advertises that you need these luxuries and that to prove that one is successful. It is almost seen as a must to indulge in excessive clothing purchases and expensive trips every week. We are encouraged to "treat ourselves," but at some point, I had to step back and ask, when does treating yourself become overindulgence? Over time "treating" ourselves add up and the consequences from our actions catch up with us.
