Question: I have been told by HR professionals that all the legal restraints make it difficult to actually discuss benefits and develop a solid benefit package. I do find some of the constraints cumbersome, I also understand the need and importance. What I do want to cover is the importance of employee involvement in benefit plans and changes. Some employers tackle the task without employee input whereas other employers go to great lengths to capture employee ideas and suggestions. The text covers this a bit, so I am asking, how should an employer navigate benefits - renewals, changes and limitations.
