Activity Homework: A Policy You Would Change
This brief activity will serve as preparation for your last homework.
If you could change any U.S. domestic policy today, what would it be? For this activity, choose a policy you would like to change, submit a brief explanation of the policy you would like to change, and identify three references to support this policy change. This is the same policy you will use to write your Reflection homework.
Your policy choice will need to be approved by your instructor before you begin your Final Reflection homework. Approval will be provided through your rubric score for this activity, after it has been submitted. If your policy and/or references are not approved you will need to read the instructor feedback and provide an updated policy and/or references to be approved before submitting your final homework.
Here are just a few examples of domestic public policies to choose from:
i. Energy.
ii. The environment.
iii. Health care.
iv. Social welfare.
v. Civil rights.
vi. Death penalty.
vii. Gun control.
viii. Taxation.
ix. Assisted suicide.
x. Affirmative action.
xi. Minimum wage.
xii. Drug legalization.
xiii. Immigration.
xiv. Hate crimes.
xv. Capital punishment.
After selecting a policy you would change, identify references to support the policy change. Using skills you have learned previously in the course, search for articles from reputable sources that support your views, illustrate the severity or urgency of the need for change, discuss current events that make you think about the seriousness of the issue, etc. Remember to review the news sources provided earlier in the course and ensure any references selected outside of that list are reliable.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
