What is a simple reply to post below? The prevalence of technology and social media has made a significant impact on my interactions with others especially with social media. I personally have isolated myself quite a bit from friends. I can scroll through Facebook or Instagram for long periods without realizing the time. I have noticed that I am not an attentive listener if my phone is nearby and is a reflex to pick it up and scroll. It has been brought to my attention by family and friends that it has become an annoying trait of mine which I try and do better at. I think all around these changes affect most of the people I know and have made most of us bad listeners. We receive such a huge volume of communication online that it feels we have interacted when we really haven't. Intimate conversations as defined in the notes are hard to come by through social media and hinders the ones we could have with family and friends.
