Illustrate debates on population growth

Problem 1: Which of the perspectives/debates on population growth best aligns with your own perspective on population growth as a driver of environmental degradation?

Problem 2: Consider the decoupling, degrowth, and donut economics 'ways' of moving forward. How might each of these perspective be helpful (or not) for responding to the consumption 'debates' discussed in the lecture, and the ideas in the textbook reading on consumption?

Problem 3: Thinking of the continuum of perspectives on nature, draw this continuum and place the various perspectives and values systems discussed in the 'What is Nature' lecture along this continuum and demonstrate the connections between them. Briefly explain why you have placed each perspective/value system where you have.

Note: your response should include placement of the following value systems: (first, second, and third nature; Judeo-Christian, enlightenment, Islamic, Animistic, Buddhist perspectives; anthropocentric, intrinsic, instrumental, relational/collective values)

Problem 4: In what ways does the Te Awa Tupua case study connect to the value systems mentioned throughout the 'What is Nature' lectures?
