A rock radio station with an extensive teenage audience sponsors a contest that rewards the first contestant to locate a particular disc jockey. Two minors, driving in separate automobiles in pursuit of the illustrious disc jockey, reach speeds of up to 80 mph. One of the minors negligently forces another car off the highway, killing the driver. A wrongful death action is filed against the radio station. Should the rock station be held liable, or is the negligence of the minor a superseding cause? Weirum v. RKO General Inc., 539 P.2d 36 (Cal. 1975).
