Quantitative research is based on the measurement of amount or quantity. It's applicable to phenomena which can be expressed in terms of quantity. It's research methodology which seeks to quantity the data and typically applies some form of statistical analysis. Quantitative research is structured in nature and recommends a final course of action. Qualitative research, conversely, is concerned with qualitative phenomenon. Qualitative research is significant in the behavioural sciences where aim is to discover the underlying motives of human behavior.
