The drawing (Figure P2.20) shows the engine, transmission, and propeller shaft of a prototype automobile. The transmission and engine are not bolted together but are attached separately to the frame. The transmission weighs 100 lb, receives an engine torque of 100 lb-ft at A through a flexible coupling, and attaches to the propeller shaft at B through a universal joint. The transmission is bolted to the frame at C and D. If the transmission ratio is -3, i.e., reverse gear with propeller shaft speed = -1/3 engine speed, show the transmission as a free body in equilibrium.
