An Airport Master Plan can be a 5, 10, or even 20-year document developed by an airport. It is a very detailed document. Larger airports can spend several thousand dollars to have a master plan created or updated. Much of this FAA controlled document is based on forecasting, a methodology your authors do not believe works.
If forecasting is so flawed, why does it continue to be used by major airports? Consider and debate whether or not airport planners should continue to base master plans on forecasting. Defend your response.
