Fire Science Students: For this assignment, you will create a flowchart that identifies the process that a fire department or fire prevention agency goes through to gain its enforcement authority. Be sure to include information about how the department or agency was created through legislative actions, including laws, rules, regulations, and codes. Then, explain how the department's or agency's fire prevention power is carried through to the local level to provide authoritative power for fire inspectors at the state and local levels.
Students will develop operational guidelines and policies that outline a simple timetable for retaining fire prevention records for their organizations.
