Problem
Gender plays a prominent role in shaping health behaviors and health outcomes and the access to health organizations and institutions for women. Women's networks have received global aid and global health in recent decades. NGOs such as CARE and the Grameen Bank and other microfinance organizations have worked with women to improve access to health and intervention through microfinance and entrepreneurships. Some results of studies have demonstrated that intervention combined with microfinance and entrepreneurship have improved health outcomes for women. One specific study is the IMEA Project included in your unit readings.
Review Arrivillaa, Salcedo, and Perez's 2014 article, "IMEA Project: An Intervention Based on Microfinance, Entrepreneurship, and Adherence to Treatment for Women With HIV/AIDS Living in Poverty."
