Problem
• Observation Report: Read a book with a child. Use Anecdotal record to observe the child and how you see this book being used to extend children's language, literacy, and cognitive skills.
• Learning Goal: Identify the learning goals of the book and how you will use it to extend language, literacy, and cognitive skills in children.
• Reading: Design specific questions to assess children's understanding of the book, vocabulary, concepts, and story line of the book. Be prepared to scaffold if the child need clarification.
• Listening: Develop questions that prompt children to reconstruct the story and include types of questions to engage the child in book reading session(s).
• Upon completion of the readings, provide a written reflection on your own practice and comments.
