Assignment
Read the case study fully, then read the questions below, and read the case one more time.
Visit their website and familiarize yourself with their products and their "Greater Good Business Model" diagram.
Your case study analysis will consist of at least 5 pages not including title page and references. APA style is a must.
I have attached a sample case study analysis so you get an idea of what an APA style case analysis looks like.
Questions to think about as you read are the following:
As you read Part 1: Why do employees job craft? Think about which of the four employees' job designs aligns the least with his or her strengths and motives? Which employees' job design aligns most with his or her strengths and motives?
If these four employees had to enact their jobs exactly as they are formally designed, how do you think it would affect their engagement, satisfaction, and performance?
As you read Part 2: How do employees job craft? Think about how you would summarize the way each person crafted his or her job? What does this tell you about the options that people have in crafting their jobs?
As you read Part 3: In their own words think about ways job crafting is beneficial for the four employees described in the case; and what are the potential benefits and costs of job crafting. In general, what can employees learn from these four stories of job crafting? What can managers learn from these stories?
Here are guidelines for writing a case study analysis:
Preparing the Case
Before you begin writing, follow these guidelines to help you prepare and understand the case study:
1. Read and examine the case thoroughly
• Take notes, highlight relevant facts, underline key problems.
2. Focus your analysis
• Identify two to five key problems
• Why do they exist?
• How do they impact the organization?
• Who is responsible for them?
3. Uncover possible solutions
• Review course readings, discussions, outside research, your experience.
4. Select the best solution
• Consider strong supporting evidence, pros, and cons: is this solution realistic?
Drafting the Case
Once you have gathered the necessary information, a draft of your analysis should include these sections:
1. Introduction
• Identify the key problems and issues in the case study.
• Formulate and include a thesis statement, summarizing the outcome of your analysis in 1-2 sentences.
2. Background
• Set the scene: background information, relevant facts, and the most important issues.
• Demonstrate that you have researched the problems in this case study.
3. Alternatives
• Outline possible alternatives (not necessarily all of them)
• Explain why alternatives were rejected
• Constraints/reasons
• Why are alternatives not possible at this time?
4. Proposed Solution
• Provide one specific and realistic solution
• Explain why this solution was chosen
• Support this solution with solid evidence
• Concepts from class (text readings, discussions, lectures)
• Outside research
• Personal experience (anecdotes)
5. Recommendations
• Determine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution.
• If applicable, recommend further action to resolve some of the issues
• What should be done and who should do it?
Finalizing the Case
After you have composed the first draft of your case study analysis, read through it to check for any gaps or inconsistencies in content or structure: Is your thesis statement clear and direct? Have you provided solid evidence? Is any component from the analysis missing?
When you make the necessary revisions, proofread and edit your analysis before submitting the final draft.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
