Assignment Overview:
You serve as a mediator for your state when it considers new laws. It is your job to create committees that will inform those in power as they prepare to vote on important social issues.
You need to choose three committee members for each of the two topics below. You want to be sure you have a well-rounded committee with diverse perspectives. For each committee member you choose, you must:
Part 1:
1. Identify the committee member you chose.
Note: Remember that you want a well-rounded committee and therefore you need to choose people with differing perspectives so they can review the topics from different viewpoints.
2. Describe two aspects of their background that could influence their perspective. Use specific details.
3. Analyze two ways their perspective is important for this committee to make informed decisions. Use specific details.
Part 2:
Once you've completed both scenarios, be sure to complete the reflection on the topic.
