Case study: Netflix's 2020 strategy for battling rivals in the global market for streamed video subscribers
1) As the Organizational Culture and Ethics Role: This role analyzes situations from a perspective of the organizational culture and the commitment (or lack thereof) to ethics/social responsibility. How do these things affect/influence the situations presented in the case? Potential solutions should be developed in line with the organizational culture and its commitment to ethics.
2) TOWS Matrix - Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats accompanied by strategy points
The main deliverable for this section is a combined or comprehensive TOWS Matrix. SWOT should be substantiated through research which highlights the relevant and critical factors from the Situational, External, and Internal Analyses.
3) External Analysis - In-depth external analysis
Using Porter's Competitive Forces Model (and any other relevant models) identify and analyze, from the perspective of the organizational culture role, the critical external factors contributing to the situation presented in the case.
4) Alternatives Identification - Directions that the company could pursue for continued growth
Given the growth and challenges that Netflix is facing, identify new or renewed strategies to maintain organizational success. Briefly explain these alternatives. Be sure to present how the factors from the various perspectives are integrated.
