Healthy People provide science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. For 3 decades, Healthy People has established benchmarks and monitored progress over time in order to:
- Encourage collaborations across communities and sectors.
- Empower individuals toward making informed health decisions.
- Measure the impact of prevention activities.
Healthy People 2030 strive to:
- Identify nationwide health improvement priorities.
- Increase public awareness and understanding of the determinants of health, disease, and disability and the opportunities for progress.
- Provide measurable objectives and goals that are applicable at the national, State, and local levels.
- Engage multiple sectors to take actions to strengthen policies and improve practices that are driven by the best available evidence and knowledge.
- Identify critical research, evaluation, and data collection needs.
Overarching Goals:
- Attain high-quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury, and premature death.
- Achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of all groups.
- Create social and physical environments that promote good health for all.
- Promote quality of life, healthy development, and healthy behaviors across all life stages.
In your first literature review, you will review the Healthy People 2030 Topics and Objectives select one topic or objective that interests you. Provide a summary and rationale for your chosen topic that includes public health measures (e.g. statistical data and trends); the population most affected by the issue; a synopsis of the public health literature on the topic; and the historical and cultural aspects and/or ethical implications related to the topic.
Grading Criteria:
Write a 5-7 page paper defining the problem, who is affected, what are the interventions currently being implemented and the Healthy People 2030 objective.
Your data must come from current scientific and public health journals. Include in your paper, recent studies, new treatments, etc in your paper. . Be sure to follow my paper guidelines, Times New Roman font, 12 pt font, double spaced, one-inch margins, title and reference pages are not included in page count. APA format.
