Assignment task: David is a 30-year-old male who has recently been diagnosed with Non- Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He is married to Amy and has a 2-year-old daughter Hannah. David works as an accountant and leads an active life. He plays football for the local AFL team. David has never smoked but enjoys going out for a drink with his mates when he can. David is 185cm tall and normally weighs 88Kg.
- David is currently an inpatient on the ward as he has recently completed his first cycle of an intensive chemotherapy regimen called HyperCVAD. This regimen requires him to have a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insitu. David's neutrophils are currently extremely low, and he is to remain as an inpatient until his blood cells count improves. He has grade 2-3 mucositis (using the WHO grading scale) and has been coughing up thick sputum. He also stated that he had two loose bowel motions this morning and was feeling nauseas. He is not able to manage any oral intake. David has been too tired to mobilise much over the last week - and tends to stay in his bed unless going to the bathroom.
