Scenario A
Erik is the owner of the Why Thai? restaurant where he employs a large team of ten kitchen staff and eight front of house staff, both of which have their respective managers appointed. During a weekend evening service, the front of house manager and the kitchen manager have a disagreement over an incorrect order. Both managers claim that the fault lies with the other team and are refusing to be accountable.
After the disagreement, communication breaks down between the two teams meaning that more orders are miscommunicated, and more meals are returned to the kitchen resulting in a loss of profits. The other members of the teams are becoming stressed, and the atmosphere between the teams is increasing. Erik acknowledges that he must take action to improve the team's performance.
