Problem:
Respond to this post: The Council-Manager would be the most effective governing body for urban sustainability. The manager would be expectantly hired with a background in urban planning so that they can integrate sustainability into the city. Another pro of having a Council-Manager would be that they can strive for long term goals because they are not subjected to frequent position changes. This is major because long term projects can be fast tracked with one person at the forefront of these sustainable challenges. With a council no one person is at the head and politics cannot sway the publics demands for sustainable initiatives. The only downside that can be seen is that this manager would not be elected by the people and could stray from what the people want most. In order to diminish this hurdle there could be public survey and or polls to ensure that they manager does not lose sight of their goals.
