Review the article: The Biography of a Chinaman by Lee Chew
• From the scenario (Lee Chew), text, and Instructor Insights examine the impact of immigration on the need for post-Reconstruction period legislators to create policies. Provide at least two (2) reasons why white politicians saw other minority groups as a threat and acted to limit their freedoms. Identify at least one piece of legislation enacted by these politicians in response to what they saw as the "encroaching non-white American threat." Provide a rationale for your response. Read the article to identify the ways in which these policies impacted people's lives. What drove Lee to come to the United States?
