Identify buildings by title country and date of construction

Problem

There are 9 sets of images shown in the above module. You are asked to find these images in your text book and tell about those you select. these are much shorter and go directly "to the point." 6-8 sentences per pair of images.

It is asked 6-8 sentences for FOUR pair of images. You can use and cite your textbook, but for the most part you will be writing "mini" essays based on your observations.

Some of these examples are not in your textbook and since you might not know how to spell them, here is a list of the comparisons:

I. Use book plates (images) 12.6 and 12.22 for your comparison. Identify the buildings by title, town, country, and date of construction.

II. For the discussion on flying buttresses (outside) and the nave wall (inside) use Plates (images) 12.12, 12.15, and 12.16. Identify the buildings by title, town, country, and date of construction.

III. For the Vault and the Nave comparison, use Plates (diagram, images) 12.23 and 12.24. Identify the buildings by title, town, country, and date of construction.

IV. Exterior facades, Reims 12.27 and Amiens (Google Image the facade, please).

V. Exterior sculpture, St. Theodore, 12.22 (Chartres) and Google image: "The Beau Dieu", west facade Amiens, a sculpted Trumeau, central doorway.

VI. For these two interiors, use the plans Amiens 12.23 and Reims 12.26.

VII. English vs. French Gothic styles, go to Plates 12.49, 12.50, and 12.51 for Salisbury Cathedral and Notre Dame Paris, 12.8, 12.9, and 12.10.

VIII. Roettgen Pieta, Plate 12.60 and The Virgin of Jeanne d'Evreux, 12.41 (How do you explain them as both being Gothic Style?

IX. Florence Cathedral (Read about its history so you can discern its Gothic parts) 13.10 and again (Notre Dame Paris as above).
