Assignment
The Flag Assignment is a culinary journey around the world. This assignment stimulates you to google search for the names of countries, their capitals and the most popular food preparations in those countries.
The flag assignment provides you with menu writing skills, knowledge of methods of cooking, style of service and traditional and standard accompaniment served with the food item. After completing this assignment you will obtain the knowledge of different styles of cooking techniques like, braising, roasting, sauteeing, poaching and frying etc. The standard and traditional accompaniments served with a particular food preparation. The assignment provides you with the skill of briefly explaining a menu item to your guest in the restaurant, thus providing you with qualities of suggestive selling and upselling menu items.
You have been provided with flags of 60 different countries around the world and the assignment expects you to do the following excercise.
1. Identify and write the name and capital of the country to which the flag belongs to under the flag.
2. Google search a popular food preparation from that country, write the name of the preparation and discribe the food preparation in your own words in three lines. The description should highlight the major ingredients, style of cooking and the traditional accompaniment and how it is served.
