Discussion Post
To start our time together, it is important that we define our central terms, here 'critical thinking.'
So, for this discussion post, Identify and describe one way in which critical thinking differs from any other way of thinking? That is, identify one specific feature of critical thinking? An essential part of critical thinking is seeing the bigger picture.
Also, perception is a big part of critical thinking. Do we go through life and just see it as it is, or do we really think about what is actually happening? For instance, I was driving to work and the sun was rising in the east and was really bright. I started thinking that our star is 93,000,000 miles away. We are spinning around our axis at 1,000 miles per hour while orbiting our star at 66,658 mph. Does the sun move? Our sun is a star in the Milky Way Galaxy. Our sun is flying through our galaxy at 492,126 miles per hour. Our sun is one of the many stars that contain planets. Most of the other stars in our galaxy have planets, therefore there are trillions of planets in our galaxy. There are trillions of stars in our galaxy that have trillions of planets orbiting these stars. There are also trillions of galaxies in our known universe. What do you think about this? Interact with this concept and how it relates to seeing the big picture. Write your thoughts about this statement and discuss it with others.
