Using the topic Divorce . You will research and paper that defines your topics, provides background information on the topic (including relevant recent statistics), discuss how it existed in the past in the U.S., how it currently exists in the U.S., how it existed traditionally in a non-western culture prior to globalization, and how that aspect of life has changed due to globalization.
Include these Core components:
A. Identify and define the topic and subtopic you have selected (i.e., if you select gender roles, define gender and gender roles).
B. Provide background information on your topic including relevant information on how it existed in the U.S. traditionally, including relevant recent statistics.
C. Provide and discuss how your topic exists in current American culture, include at least two detailed examples.
D. Provide background information about your topic including relevant information on how it existed in one traditionally nonwestern culture prior to globalization, such as places like India, China, Japan, The Middle East, Africa, Latin America, etc.
E. Define globalization (global interdependence) and discuss how it has effected/changed this aspect of family life within the nonwestern culture you have selected.
F. The use of at least TWO scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles is REQUIRED. Do not obtain information from random internet sites (get approval for ALL internet sites (anything that is ".gov" is ok). Most internet content is not regulated and may not be accurate.
G. Refrain from writing in 1st person in formal academic papers (i.e., I, me, my). This means, rather than saying "I am going to talking about..." merely begin your discussion. Also, stay away from personal statements, such as "I think that ...", in favor or a more fact-based statement such as, "Statistics show that 75% of people fall in the category of...." 11.
