Problem
One of the greatest challenges leaders face is leading disparate factions within an otherwise homogenous group. Common examples are readily seen in the military and diplomatic spheres. For example, Ursula von der Leyen and Jens Stoltenberg, the respective heads of the European Commission and NATO, must account for various stakeholders' interests. Likewise, leaders--like Dr. Anthony Fauci--are also challenged by the need to account for different attitudes, social norms and cultural identity that can exist within the factions. These challenges add dimensions to leadership that are not easily anticipated.
Identify a past or current leader that is confronting one or more of these challenges and discuss how they have addressed them.
