Assignment: Executive Leadership in Public Administration

As a state government employee and coordinator, you are tasked with consolidating state resources in an effort to reduce cost across various state government programs. Write a paper explaining your efforts to consolidate resources in the state where you currently reside. Be sure your paper includes the following:
• Examine the executive branch of your state government, identify two agencies to merge, and then explain your rationale.
o Consider the two agencies that merged, and then identify the roles you would assign to each executive leader.
o Determine who would be in charge of the newly merged agency.
o Identify a new name for the merged agency.
o Determine if you would eliminate any role or area of responsibility.
o Assess whether there would be a reduction in the workforce.
• Create a policy memorandum for presentation to the legislative and judicial branches of your state regarding your intended changes.
• Recommend a timeline for implementation.
