Identify a company with Internet presence and suggest ways to gain competitive advantage. There is a list of eight basic ways to gain competitive advantage (Eight Basic Ways: reduce costs, raise barriers to market entrants, establish high switching costs, create new products or services, differentiate products or services, enhance products or services, establish alliances, lock in suppliers or buyers). Identify a company that has presence on the Web, and explain how they can or should apply the initiatives to gain advantage over their competitors. Of the eight ideas, choose six or more of the initiatives to discuss your ideas. (Do not assume that all of the ideas will be implemented at one time. It is most likely the case that a company will implement just a couple of these ideas at a time. So if the ideas do not all parallel or compliment each other, and perhaps even conflict with one another, it is okay) First, tell me about the company in your own words and don't forget to note the website address/URL as part of your introduction. Give a decent highlight about the nature of the company. Then, using each one of the strategies, describe how each step can be applied by the company to gain a competitive advantage. Be thorough in your creative and strategic ideas as though you are acting as a consultant. Creative and novel ideas will definitely be key.
