Isaac Newton (1642 - 1727) and Wilhelm Liebniz (1646 - 1716) are known throughout the mathematics community as the "fathers of calculus".
I would like a 1 - 2 page report on a mathematician, of your choice, that came before their time and contributed to the development of calculus. Specifically report about things such as:
• Their life in general. How and when did they get into the field of mathematics.
• Who were other mathematicians of their time that they corresponded with.
• How they influenced the development of calculus.
• Did they teach mathematics, publish mathematics, or do mathematics as a hobby?
• What else did they do outside of the math world?
