How your thinking has shifted during your experiences

Assignment

Your project will be a collection of at least six images, media, and ideas you produce during the semester assembled into a dynamic project that pulls together a broader theme that speaks to you from this course. This project should utilize your creativity and stretch your comfort zone: be bold, be brave, and take risks as you present your thoughts. The project should include:

1. An overarching articulation of a broader theme that you think is applicable to popular, visual and media culture (your images should be connected intellectually and thematically).

2. How/if your thinking has shifted during your experiences in the course, and if so, what were the pivotal moments of realization/analysis?

3. What do you think the future holds for the impact/importance of popular, visual and media culture?

These questions should be incorporated into your project but they do not create its structure. Submissions that move, week by week, reiterating the course content and summarizing what we've explored together are not sufficient for this project. What broader leaps and ideas are of interest to you? How can you take what we've examined and apply it to your own interests and ideas? Successful projects over the years have included not only well-done, thoughtful papers, but websites, google slides, podcast episodes - I am open to just about anything that will enable you to make the points you want to make - but keep in mind that this is a significant portion of your grade, and should reflect the appropriate amount of effort.
