Problem:
For individuals, alcohol consumption increases the proclivity of offenders to commit crime. In this study, researchers examined the spatial correlation between alcohol establishments and crime. Specifically, researchers confirmed counts of crime on street units (SU) as a function of the number of alcohol outlets on the local street unit (SU). Stated another way, the number of alcohol outlets in the street unit, has a local effect of 0.25 on counts of crime or if you live on the 100 block of main street, and they added an alcohol outlet on your street, you would expect that alcohol outlet to increase crime by approximately 25%. What is the purpose of the research?
