Regarding your first point, it is absolutely crucial that confidentiality is upheld by clients in a group. However, the therapist is the only person in the room that is ethically mandated to adhere to confidentiality (unless a client is a danger to self or others). However, and especially with teens, I emphasize the importance of confidentiality as if the clients were mandated.
