Question 1: Discuss how you have facilitated or advocated for "change" or where you have already engaged in healthcare policy.
Question 2: Identify one issue in your nursing practice where you have facilitated a new policy or change to an existing policy.
Question 3: Discuss the setting in which you were or currently are working at the time this change was proposed and how your background and experiences (both personal and professional) impacted your position on this change. (Identify stakeholders that are affected by the issue and also those who will be impacted by the selected legislation.)
Question 4: Propose special interest groups that may be interested in the problem and how they may serve as allies or opponents to the legislation.
Question 5: Discuss why you believe this change was needed, whether you were successful in making the policy change, and if not, what you could have done differently. Identify if you used any "evidence" or SBAR to help you prepare your efforts to make this change. How would this change be supported by the Code of Ethics for Nurses?
