Problem
I. In A Million Little Pieces, Frey can sometimes appear quite vulnerable and raw. What techniques does Frey use to make this sense of vulnerability? Knowing that many parts of this memoir were invented, how you do you interpret Frey's vulnerability? In your opinion, is this vulnerability genuine or constructed?
II. Have you ever told others stories about yourself that weren't entirely true or that were enhanced (you put in more drama, more sympathy, you left out parts of the story)? If not, have you ever caught a friend or acquaintance exaggerating the truth? What are our ethical responsibilities in telling stories about ourselves or about others? Cite each example and quotation that you use.
