Purpose: Health care managers must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. Communication involves skills such as clarity, concision, confidence, respect and empathy. While communicating, health care managers must rely on facts to answer questions and evidence to solve problems. All of these skills should be demonstrated in this discussion, both in answering the question and giving feedback to classmates.

During any debate on health care, many Americans claim that we have the best system in the world. Those Americans may also defend our system of health care by claiming that other systems rely on "socialized medicine" which raises taxes, causes long wait times, and involves rationing of care.
How would you reply to those arguments to convince others of the value of examining other healthcare systems? Why should we look at the healthcare systems in other countries? What can we learn? Be sure to use an evidence-based approach.
