Outline the situation, as well as actions taken in relation to service policies and procedures. Make sure you include the following key points in your response:

B) Give an example of a situation when you were required to follow service risk-management strategies for a child with a long-term medical condition. (for example a child with an asthma or allergy management plan)

C) Give an example of a situation when you were required to interpret medication administration instructions for the following:

  • a short-term medical need (for example a child who is teething)
  • a long-term medical need (for example a child who has asthma or allergy)

Outline the situation as well as action taken in relation to legislative requirements/National Regulations and centre/service policies and procedures. (remember as a student you will be supporting and assisting qualified educators with procedures including administering medication)

D) How would you manage a risk involving a food allergy (eggs, milk, nuts) as per workplace policy/procedures?

E) Explain how confidentiality is maintained in your centre/service in relation to children's health needs.
