The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) of persuasion suggests that the effectiveness of a persuasive appeal depends on several important factors. To show you know this model, each member of the group should watch the two commercials below and help evaluate them based on: (i) Were they trying to use central and/or peripheral processing, (ii) was it personally effective to you - why or why not, and (iii) how would you have modified the commercials to make it more effective based on the ELM?
