How would you handle the problem related to customer service


Problem: Assume you are the leader of a group. The group is meeting to solve a problem the company has encountered in the customer service department. One member of the group, the department head for customer service, is very well connected to top management. This member continues to advocate for a solution the majority of the rest of the group has rejected. Things are coming to a head, with this member becoming more adamant about their solution. As the leader, you must deal with this person and with the problem they are creating. What would you do? How would you handle the problem? Remember, they are well connected, so how will you avoid making them angry which could result in them going behind your back to their buddies in top management?
