The Bald Eagle is an example of species that became dangerously endangered in the 1970s. Scientists at the time wanted to figure out why the Bald Eagle population was declining so rapidly toward extinction. The scientists posted three initial hypotheses as a starting point for research into this topic: (i) their birth rate had fallen, (ii) their death rate had risen, (iii) their migration patterns had shifted.
