i. What is the differential diagnosis?
ii. In hematuria it is necessary to distinguish and upper GU source (glomerular) from a lower GU source (bladder, urethra, genitals). What questions would you ask to distinguish the two?

What role do the kidneys play in terms of blood pressure regulation? Your response should be down to the molecular level. Most commonly our patients have primary (essential) hypertension and fewer patients have secondary hypertension. If a patient has secondary hypertension what is the most likely pathologic process? Why is this clinically relevant?
