Discussion: Reflections on Course Concepts
Given the readings and assignments in the course:
• Identify and briefly discuss two concepts in this course that you believe will be most applicable to the professional discipline you will enter upon completion of your degree program.
• What is the importance of these concepts to the professional discipline?
• How will you use these concepts in your future career?

Reflection is a mental process that challenges you to use critical thinking to examine the course information, analyze it carefully, make connections with previous knowledge and experience, and draw conclusions based on the resulting ideas. A well-cultivated critical thinker raises vital questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely; gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively; comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards; thinks open-mindedly within alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing, as need be, their assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems. In order to earn maximum credit, the comment should be more than your opinion, and more than a quick "off the top of your head" response. Be sure to support your statements, cite sources properly, cite within the text of your comments, and list your reference(s). The response must be a minimum of 250 words.

Module- SLP Assignment: INTEGRATION
Background: In this module you will continue to explore different aspects of the culture that you selected in Module 1. As evidence of your completion of the SLP, you will combine your previous submissions and submit one paper addressing the constructs of Purnell's model listed below, as well as all previous constructs. Subheadings should be used to address each requirement of the paper.
Assignment
1. Combine all previous submissions into one document.
2. Discuss the Health Care Practices construct of Purnell's model as it relates to your selected culture and address each of the sub-constructs listed below:
o Focus on health care
o Traditional practices
o Magicoreligious religious beliefs
o Responsibility for health
o Transplantation
o Rehabilitation/chronicity
o Self-medication
o Pain/sick role
o Mental health
o Barriers
3. Discuss the Health Care Practitioners construct of Purnell's model as it relates to your selected culture and address each of the sub-constructs listed below:
o Perceptions of practitioners
o Folk practitioners
o Gender and health care
SLP Assignment Expectations
Use information from your module readings/articles as well as appropriate research to support your selection.
Length: The final SLP assignment (integrated Modules 1-4) should be 15-25 pages long (double-spaced).
References: At least 10 references must be included from academic sources (peer-reviewed journal articles) for the final paper. Required Reading is included. Quoted materials should not exceed 10% of the total paper (since the focus of these assignments is critical thinking). Use your own words and build on the ideas of others. Materials copied verbatim from external sources must be enclosed in quotation marks. In-text citations are required as well as a list of references at the end of the assignment. (APA format is recommended.)
Organization: Subheadings should be used to organize your paper according to the questions.

• Relevance - All content is connected to the question.
• Precision - Specific question is addressed. Statements, facts, and statistics are specific and accurate.
• Depth of discussion - Points that lead to deeper issues are presented and integrated.
• Breadth - Multiple perspectives and references, and multiple issues/factors are considered.
• Evidence - Points are well supported with facts, statistics, and references.
• Logic - Discussion makes sense; conclusions are logically supported by premises, statements, or factual information.
• Clarity - Writing is concise and easy to understand, and contains sufficient detail or examples.
• Objectivity - Avoids the use of first person and subjective bias.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
