This system will be used in homes and small businesses to detect intrusions, fire, smoke, and carbon monoxide.
The system will be interconnected with a monitoring service and appropriate government Emergency Response Services (EMS) (fire, police, etc.).
The system will be operated by the building owner or manager via a simple user interface
The system must be secure against tampering or disablement
The system must be able to operate over long intervals without external power
