In my personal perspective, you can never be truly ready for handling change within the workplace since you really don't know the types of change that can occur. However, I feel that being proactive is your best defense for handling change. For instance, as a banker, change is constant. In my prior position, I was a customer service email representative. For this position, my primary responsibility was responding to the financial institutions incoming emails that were sent on behalf of customers. Ensuring the quality and accuracy of my responses was a task on its own. However, management advised that it was necessary for me to register and obtain my lending license through NMLS (National Mortgage Lending System), given that there was a shortage for loan representatives. As opposed to becoming frustrated with this decision, I choose to strengthen my experience in lending. Prior to obtaining my license, I obtained diplomas and certifications on lending through PBA (Pennsylvania Bankers Association). Therefore by the time that I obtained my lending license through NMLS, I was confident and comfortable with accepting loan applications.
