Question 1: How will you introduce and engage the students at the beginning of the activity? (What will you say and to begin the activity? How will you introduce the activity to the children, provide a learning objective, explain the activity, and help the children to begin?)
I would then tell the students that today we are going to learn about rocks and how they can be used for communication, and learning. I would explain that rocks are natural materials that come in many shapes and sizes, and that they can be used for many purposes such as building, writing, painting, playing, and more.
Question 2: How will you encourage investigation by the students during the activity? (What will you say and do as the children are working/playing to keep them interested? How will you encourage deeper investigation? What will you be doing to participate with the children? How will you encourage peer conversation, information sharing, and interaction?)
I would also model and demonstrate how to do the rock activities and share my own ideas and experiences with rocks.
Question 3: How will you discuss (review) the learning experience with the students as the children are finishing the activity or later the same day? Where will this happen? What will you say/do to support the children in talking about their learning?
I would gather the students in a circle or a large group and ask them to bring their rocks and work samples with them. I would then summarize what we learned about rocks today and review the main points and objectives of the lesson.
