Problem:
To empower the community towards health improvement, it is good to apply several culturally appropriate concepts and skills. Utilize cultural humility, which involves recognizing and acknowledging that my own cultural perspective may not align with those of the community members. This requires actively listening to their voices, respecting their values, and valuing their lived experiences. Basically, applying the National CLAS standards (Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.) I would prioritize cultural adaptation, which involves modifying the program content, format, and delivery to match the cultural context. This may include translating materials into different languages, incorporating traditional healing practices or culturally relevant examples, and using culturally appropriate visuals or symbols.
