How to count rows in a filtered list

Problem:

Question- How can I count rows in a filtered list?

If I want to sum values in a filtered list I can use subtotal (109, a1:a999) and get a total of just the filtered values. Can I do the same thing with a count of the rows that are filtered?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
