Assignment task: Enrich My Work:
One of the most interesting things I've learned this week is strategic sourcing. Strategic sourcing is a method that validates how information is gathered and is used to ensure that a company can control its purchasing power to establish appropriate values in a market. Strategic Sourcing is a supply chain that looks slightly different from the ground up. Strategic sourcing centers on supply chain collaboration in a supply chain to engage in constructive partnerships to achieve customer satisfaction. To do this, six phases of strategic sourcing are used to collaborate between supply chain members effectively.
The six steps are to collaborate in areas where a company has strong foundations, to convert "win-lose situations into win-win situations," partner selection should be based on strategic objectives, value potential, and capabilities, invest in the right people and infrastructure, create robust and joint performance management systems, collaborating for the long term. At first glance, it isn't easy to understand why a supply chain would want to invest time or resources in strategic sourcing. However, clearly and effectively achieving a company's objectives or goals with greater long-term gains is a quality reason to invest in strategic sourcing.
