Assignment task:

Open the Design Thinking Bootleg created by the Institute of Design at Stanford University. Review the "Welcome" and Process Modules descriptions.

For this exercise we will employ Define tools, which help you develop actionable problem statements based on an understanding of the users of a product of service. We will use the "Journey Map" (card p.19) and "How Might We Questions" tools. For our Design Challenge, we will consider the scenario and user(s) introduced in the "How might We Questions" tool (card p.29). Card p.5 (Point of View Tool) provides an explanation of the Point of View description provided on the "How might We Questions" tool Card.

Your Task is to:

Create a journey Map that details the mother's journey from when she arrived at the airport (in the parking lot or at the front door of the Departures) to when her flight leaves the runway based on your enhanced understanding of the mother's point of view you have gained by mapping her journey,

Answer the five domains of "How Might We" questions stated on the "How might We Questions" tool Card based on the potential solutions you identified by answering the "How Might We" questions, then

Develop a list of recommendations for how the airport waiting space could be redesigned.
