Assignment: Managing & Using Information Systems
In Chapter 4 of the text - Managing & Using Information Systems: A Strategic Approach, the chapter discusses IT and Work Location. We looked at how technology allows workers to telecommute and "work from home". This topic is a very interesting but complicated for the technology professional that must setup this arrangement.
Using the lessons learned in Chapter 4 of the text about the challenges from an IT management standpoint, apply this knowledge to the following situation. Your company has decided to allow the sales team to telecommute and work in the field. You have 25 sales people who will be working outside of the walls of your organization. You are charged with developing a plan that includes specifics about PC equipment, remote connectivity to company servers and information, and collaboration tools like web video conferencing and file sharing.
This submission should be in the form of a letter to your company CEO.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
